The staff here at ServiceMaster were here to serve Southern Alberta through our business mandate, which is disaster restoration. It is our business but we also were, like every other Southern Albertan, affected by the impact the floods had on us personally and those around us. We were proud of staff who worked 20 hour days for days on end in those tough conditions. We moved as quickly as possible to help as many as we could.
There were also a number of community initiatives we were involved in, big and small, trying to make a difference and help others.
One such story was when we partnered with Earthmasters to help a senior couple in High River. We sent a three person team to the house and they worked an extended day, cleaning and sanitizing. You can read more about that story at the Earthmasters website on their High River Floor Relief Mission page.
We also were sponsors of the Hell or High Water Rodeo September 21 & 22, 2013 in Millarville, raising funds for the victims of the Southern Alberta floods. Congratulations to the organizers who greatly exceeded their expectations and raised over $100,000 for those in need. You can read more about the event in this article on the Hell or High Water Rodeo.
There were countless other stories of our staff going above and beyond, and so we thank them. Thank you also to our customers who trusted us to help them when they most needed it.
